Make "Oatmeal": Make oatmeal from 1 lb. oatmeal and 1/2 lb. flaked barley. Sparge oatmeal into wort with hot water. Discard oatmeal. Or
in this case, make cookies out of the oatmeal.
Make "Tea": Make tea from crystal and chocolate malt. Cover grains with water and bring to boil. Sparge with warm, then cold water.
Discard spent grains.
Boil wort: Bring wort to boil. Add Dextrin malt and Northern Brewer hops. Boil for 1 hour. Add Irish Moss 10 minutes before end of boil.
Finish with 1/2 oz. Cascade hops, steep for 15 minutes. Transfer wort to bucket, straining through cheese cloth.
Pitch yeast: Add yeast and remaining hops for fermentation.
